We are deeply apologetic for being so behind on our blog. We have been dealing with the selling of our home and the big move up to Signal Mountain. Please be patient with us....but here is a taste of what's to come...

Better late than never...

We have no excuses for the delay in posts this time. Other than the fact that Baker is a complete handful. He is into everything: the dog bowls, the kitchen cabinets, the fridge, the buffet, etc! He is cruising around the house and even getting some consecutive steps together (as many as 10!)

He is a dancing machine. He loves "Brown-Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison due to the fact that Grandma Byron has that song as her phone ringer. He bounces and shakes his knee like Elvis! He even went to his first Music Festival this weekend: 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival on Chattanooga's riverfront. He danced with little girls and had his picture made with Keller Williams.

Since our last post, we have traveled to Florida with Uncle Matt, Aunt Julia, cousin Benjamin, and Grandma and Grandpa Byron. Baker followed Ben around like a puppy. He learned to climb stairs, played in the surf, and enjoyed his family time at the beach.

He has spent a couple weekends at Grandma and Grandpa Woods house in Dandridge. Mom and Dad had a long wedding weekend for Uncle Wilbur and Aunt Lizard and also had an anniversary weekend in Atlanta at Music Midtown. These are the longest weekends for us without him.

Baker has had his 8, 9, and 10 month Birthdays. At his 9 month doctor's appointment, Bake was 22 pounds and 28 inches tall. They pricked his toe without the slightest tear shed. The doctor said his iron levels were good enough to move him to whole cow's milk if we desired.  He moved up to the one-year-old classroom at daycare and has come home with all types of artwork that we have proudly hung on the fridge.

Baker's vocabulary is growing by the day. He says "dah" for dog, "da" for dad (there is a difference, just hard to get across typing), "uh oh", "mama", "bye bye" while waving. He also blows kisses, puts the phone up to his ear, points the remote at the tv, puts his sippy cup on the coaster, and eats everything you put in front of him. Baker attempts to get food on his spoon and feed himself, but he is not quite there. He loves his dogs so much and knows the difference between his toys and their toys. He will walk their toys over to them and is becoming much gentler with his petting!

It is hard to believe that our little man will be turning 1 next month. We will be baptizing him at St. Augustine Church on Signal Mountain on his birthday with a party to follow at Grandma and Grandpa Byron's.

Please enjoy the pics that follow.

Baker is on the move!

We know, we know! Wedding season has set us back on the blog. Well, get ready because there is a lot of information and a ton of pictures of our growing boy. Where do we begin....

  • Baker moved up to real food. We started him on organic yellow squash pureed by Sandra and Grandma Olga. HE LOVED IT! We have fed him sweet potatoes, carrots, zucchini, avocado, mango, banana, peaches, and pears. He is a great eater!
  • Baker turned five months old on Sandra's birthday!
  • He has gone to the Chattanooga Market a couple of times and has enjoyed people watching.
  • He CRAWLED! Sandra actually got to see it, too!
  • Baker slept through the night. I repeat, he slept through the night! All we had to do was actually put him in his crib in his room!
  • We bought a family car to fit all of Baker's things. We got a 2012 Toyota Highlander.
  • Sandra had her first Mother's Day.
  • At 6 months, Baker was 19 lbs and 15 oz, 26.5 inches. Dr. Fridell said he was 'perfect'.
  • Baker has started saying 'da-da' constantly much to the excitement of Zach.
  • He got sick for the first time with an ear infection. Mom and Dad were so sad because it was the day we were leaving for a friend's wedding in Ohio. Grandma and Grandpa Byron took good care of him for us.
  • Baker went from sitting to crawling for the first time.
  • He did a back flip off of the changing table (ask Sandra for details).
  • He swam in a float in the pool for the first time. He also made 2 new friends, Thatcher and Halley.
  • Baker pulled himself to standing on the coffee table. He is a little termite and likes to chew on the side of it!
  • Baker met a lot of family and friends at Uncle Kelly and Aunt Mary Martha's wedding weekend... Great great Aunt Gerry, Uncle Art, Cousin Betty, Uncle Dan, Aunt Rita, Cousin Jonathan, Uncle Steve, Uncle Bob, Aunt Chris, Cousins Danielle and Sean, Uncle Dave and Cousin Marissa (he already met Aunt Judy),  and too many friends to name.
  • Baker went to the beach at Folly Beach, South Carolina for his first vacation. He ate so much sand but wasn't a huge fan of the water because it was a little too cold. We were in Charleston for Crystal and Matt's Wedding.
  • Zach had his first Father's Day on the drive home from the beach, but he got to ride in the back with Baker the whole time
Now for the pictures to show his growth...
